Today I have been instructed to support one of our local clients in the Farnborough area with the recruitment of a qualified accountnant to join their well established and exciting team.
My client plays as important role within a much larger global group within the manufacturing industry manufacturing. Employing around 8,000 people directly in the UK with an additional 14,000 in its 147-strong Retailer network, this company has invested nearly £2 billion in its UK operations since 2000.

This Group business is growing quickly and their proactive Finance team is rising to meet these challenges. This hands-on role will play a pivotal part in our continued success. You will provide financial planning, controlling and management support relating to the overhead costs of one or more business areas. You will challenge and support Cost Centre Managers on all aspects of their expenditure, including budget planning and forecasting, to ensure budgets are being spent appropriately and in line with company targets.
Collaborating with and providing financial advice to management, including the evaluation of business cases, to enable decisions to be made based on high quality information and analysis. Influence business departments and senior management on the definition of measures to meet the financial goals of the organisation and identify risks and opportunities to optimise business performance and ensure financial targets are achieved.
Support management decision-making by interfacing with senior Finance team members in key tasks and analyses e.g. variance reporting.
Action and advise on effective internal controls within the business area to ensure the accuracy of financial statements and security over company assets.
Enhance accurate financial reporting at month end/year end by making the necessary accruals and provisions and providing detailed variance analysis to the relevant senior Finance Manager to enable corrective action to be taken if required.
Build strong relationships with all stakeholders whilst being able to challenge assumptions.
Qualifications and Experience
Extensive financial accounting / cost controlling experience, relevant qualifications (ACA, CIMA or equivalent) and a good level of business knowledge.
Strong analytical skills: able to question complex information to identify cause and effect and deliver attractive solutions, both tactical and strategic.
Effective communicator and relationship builder with the ability to deliver commercial and operational messages and influence stakeholders drawn from a wide audience.
Flexible in approach, adaptable to changing situations and a good team player.
Advanced level of Excel and a working knowledge of SAP.
