A cool, contemporary music college in Guildford seeks enthusiastic and creative Learning Support Assistants to work with their students. The college is based in the heart of Guildford and is a 1 minute walk from the station so commuting is not a problem.
The college works with young people who are working towards careers in music and the music industry, so a love of all types of music and the ability to support these students in a way that allows them to maintain their independent is crucial. You will be there to provide support and to nurture their confidence as they explore the opportunities that are available to them in their diploma and degree courses.
Most of the roles involve working with students on a 1:1 basis so a friendly, yet professional attitude is needed to ensure that all the students make progress as you support them to access the learning that they need to thrive and succeed. Hours are based on student timetables so your days will be varied and interesting.
You will need:
A positive and proactive attitude to Learning Support
A love of performing arts and music is a must!
Literacy and numeracy qualifications to at least GCSE level
Previous experience supporting older students with challenges in accessing learning would be an advantage
Interviews will be conducted in accordance with current government guidance.
The college is committed to safeguarding of all students and staff, so applicants will need an Enhanced DBS to work with children and adults and this must be registered with the DBS online update service. If you you do not have a DBS, REED can help you to apply for one - please note - this involves a police check.
