Reed Education are currently working with a number of SEN schools in and around the Southampton area, to recruit qualified SEN Teachers for various temporary, long term or permanent positions.

SEN Teacher – The general positions

You must be a qualified teacher with QTS or QTLS with experience working with students with SEN. Experience of teaching varied P Levels, is desirable but not a necessity, as well as tailoring your lessons to suit the requirements of each student, Generally teaching classes of 6 to 13 students with the support of teaching assistants. Working will have an array of needs including SLD, PMLD, MLD, ASD, SEMH & BESD. Reed Education can offer support and guidance towards your progression as well as training to assist you further.

What you will need:

• UK Qualified Teacher Status.
• Previous experience of working with people with a statement of special needs
• Up-to-date, working knowledge and understanding of range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies.
• Effective time management and good communication skills.
• Patience, consistency and a calm and nurturing manner.
• A DBS on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one through Reed.
