One of London’s finest pubs is looking for a General Manager to lead the team as they endeavour to deliver the highest possible service!

Marylebone’s not short of pubs, but this one’s a treasure, not least for the friendly atmosphere and enticing range of interesting real ales. Comfy sofas and a few small tables give customers a choice of lounging or snacking while admiring the chandeliers and occasional art nouveau detail. The wine list has plenty of choice across a wide price range, plus nearly 20 wines by the glass.

For your customers who wish to dine, the first floor is much quieter but still has its own bar and an identical, monthly-changing menu – the dishes are British-based plus pub favourites.

As General Manager, you will enforce staffs responsibilities, ensuring they are exceeding customer expectations, uphold all customer communication and reply promptly, create an ambience for your customers using appropriate lighting, music, furnishings and heating, check for silent irritants every morning and evening, ensure all products and equipment are available, stay visible to your customers and staff, especially during busy periods and communicate your customers’ needs with the staff.

You will also manage the shift, guarantee quality of food and drinks, take responsibility for all issues, ensure site complies with health and safety standards, oversee all stock ordering, deliveries and invoices, recruitment, training and staff supervision, set the vision and standards for the site and endeavour to hit financial targets and budgets.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a managerial position in a pub / bar or similar environment, like a restaurant. They will have strong communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team in order to achieve results. You will need to be flexible – your weekly hours will depend on the needs of the business, but will be around 40-50 hours and include early / late / double shifts and weekend work (your day off each will change depending on rota).

You will receive great company perks, as well as a fantastic bonus! If you are interested in the position, apply here or contact Jake.Lane@reedglobal.com
