Our client is a local based company looking for a General Manager to run their fabulous gastropub situated in the heart of Edinburgh. 

This is a great local company to work for who have big plans to expand in the future and you will have daily dialogue with senior management. 

Leading a team of 15 (including kitchen staff) they are looking for an experienced General Manager who has a balance of running a wet/dry led venue as the establishment is very much split between drink and food.

Working 5 days from 7 including evening work you will need to be flexible and understanding of the needs of the business in terms of additional shifts during busy periods such as bank holidays and the festival.  

The salary is between £25,000 and £35,000 and very much dependant on experience. 

- Be accountable for all P&L and have a good head for figures
- Recruit, train and develop staff for the site ensuring they are a "good fit" for your business
- Conduct regular staff meetings with your team
- Conduct management reviews regularly and dealing with any disciplinary issues that may occur
- Ensuring high quality standards are met at all times including being compliant with healthy and safety, environmental health and kitchen staff hygiene certificates
- Manage online responses to all customer feedback, aim to increase this positive feedback
- Tight budget control
- Carry out daily and weekly banking duties
- Complete all staff and management rotas on a weekly basis
- Carry out daily handovers
- Stock ordering and completing of monthly stock take
- Oversee management of all events and marketing activities ensuring successful implementation and revenue generating
- Manage all staff personnel ensuring all staff files are up to date and relevant compliance signed off
- Involvement with food menu changes
- Build and maintain good working relationships with all managers and staff
- Communicate with kitchen staff on a daily basis

- Personable and outgoing. There are locals/regulars that frequent this establishment and the role will need someone outgoing, friendly, get to know them and make them feel welcome
- Creative and imaginative. You will have input into bringing new marketing ideas to the table inclduing working with local and national breweries and input for staff incentives
- Ability to think on your feet and problem solve
- Take full responsibility for all KPI's 
- A passion for beer, real ales and serving good fresh quality food to customers
- Experience in working in wet and led venues, ideally in a venue that has had an even split
- Good man management and people skills
- Positive, authoritative yet approachable
