My client are a not for profit organization that has a nationwide presence. This role will be based close to Euston Station in London. 

The role
You will have responsibility and accountability for an individual and team major donor income target and associated Key Performance Indicators.

As the Fundraising Manager, you will play a pivotal role in building a sustainable revenue ‘pipeline’ from major donors to support continued vital service growth. Focusing primarily on new business, you will identify and cultivate major donor prospects to increase and secure future significant gifts of £50K and higher, leading the growth of major donor income across the team.

This role is 9am to 5pm, 35 hours per week, with 26 days paid holiday (excluding bank holidays) a year. As a charity, they're always keen to support flexible working as best we can and have a fantastic benefits package that can be shared upon application.

Person Specification
Knowledge / Education / Previous Experience Required
Educational Background

  • Area of Specialisation: Degree level or equivalent, IOF or other fundraising membership/qualifications
  • Required Level of Education: Degree level or equivalent
  • Why is this required? Incumbent requires to lead and manage complex relationships, case for support work and analyse of detailed information related to major donor engagement.

Job-Related Experience

  • Substantial proven ability in major gift fundraising - including soliciting five and six figure gifts.
  • Proven experience of building a prospect pool from scratch.
  • Proven experience of investigating and establishing new networks.
  • Proven experience of identifying, cultivating and recruiting new donors.
  • Proven experience of donor management, demonstrating the maximisation of relationships.
  • Proven success of establishing a network of volunteer leaders who can influence major gifts from their networks.

Other Job-Related Skills/Background

  • Demonstrable knowledge of major donor fundraising techniques.
  • Awareness and understanding of trends, legislation and Institute of Fundraising best practice guidance in relation to major donor fundraising.
  • High level of computer literacy (including Word, Excel & Powerpoint), with knowledge of fundraising databases.
  • Knowledge of CARE databases

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent networking and interpersonal skills that facilitate strong relationships with a wide range of people, specifically HNWIs.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Ablility to manage time and plan workload effectively.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and consistently deliver to tight deadlines.
