My client is an Events business based in North London, it is a fast-paced, high volume finance team so we are looking for people that are able to be flexible and resilient and thrive in a high pressure environment.

Reporting to the Accounts Payable Team Leader, the Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for the smooth management of the process of obtaining accounts payable invoices from both venues and auxiliary suppliers and for the management of their approval, accurate recording and posting within the system across business units, with sole responsibility for the French part of the business.

The role then incorporates payment of these suppliers in line with terms and at an appropriate point.

Duties will include:

Aged creditor management, Ensure that all approved invoices are correctly recorded, aged and managed in accordance with agreed terms and client-specific requirements.

Accruals log, working with operations to identify all invoices that are expected based on events and venues to calculate and invoice commissions and to accrue correct costs.

Supplier payments & cashflow management, subject to approval, credit terms and discussion with the Treasury Manager.

Issue monthly reports of our entire group aged liabilities, cut by Operations Director, and at a group (Board) level.

Aged creditors, logged invoices presently unapproved and accruals.

Supplier query management, you are the central point to which all queries pertaining to payment should be made.

Ledger reconciliation, reviewed on a frequent basis and reconciled to supplier statements

Required Experience:

Previous experience within a Purchase Ledger role,
Ability to deal with conflict in a diplomatic and professional way
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French & English, including listening skills
Dynamic and enthusiastic team player
Ability to work on own initiative and also as a key team member
Ability to manage individual deadlines and objectives
Ability to contribute to and work in accordance with policies and procedures

Essential skills:

Strong French & English languages are required for both written & verbal communication.
