Metropolitan is a leading provider of integrated housing services, care and support and community regeneration. We manage over 38,000 affordable homes for rent and sale to those with greatest need, along with a range of care and support services.

We are currently seeking a Floating Support Worker to support 70 customers in the Richmond area. This role is not a care role, our customers are already within the system and require a level of advice and support that will help them ultimately achieve independent living. The services are based in a number of residential streets in the borough and requires lone work, but with full support from an experienced manager.

£18,000 -£19,000

Main accountabilities:
• Supporting a variety of customers with various mental health issues
• Working closely with the third parties involved with providing extended support for our customers , including clinical and social support
• Responding to signs of change in behaviour that may indicate other issues
• Encourage independent steps
• Maintain care planners for all customers
• Encourage and support customers to establish and maintain positive relationships with their family and friends and engage in activities which help them to achieve their personal goals.
• Provide support and practical assistance to customers around benefits, budgeting, paying bills and accessing appropriate services, including some housing management.
• Provide social and emotional support to customers in line with policies & procedures and best practice.
• Promote self-advocacy and act as the customers’ advocate where appropriate.
• Be aware of customers’ wellbeing, safety and state of health, reporting any concerns.
• Ensure all necessary records are accurate and up to date.



About you:
• Minimum of 6 months mental health experience
• Reliable, responsible, non-judgmental
• Ability to work flexibly to meet customer and service requirements across a geographical area
• Availability for working occasional weekends
• Ability to work using own initiative
• Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care related subject area or equivalent
• Ability to work using own initiative and as a member of a team
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation
