My client are a large Housing Association who employ around 650 people and have over 24000 homes across the East Midlands, London and South East. They are looking to build around 350 new additional homes each year. 

They are looking to recruit a an experienced property surveyor to join their dedicated fire safety team in central London to provide full support to the fire safety team providing reports, specifications, schedule of works and tender documents to ensure the delivery of the planned fire safety works programme.

- To work within the Assets and Development Directorate and assist with the delivery of the fire safety works across the organisations wide geographical district but focusing on the Midlands area
- Carry out site inspections and prepare detailed reports, specifications and schedules for the completion of required fire safety works
- Carry out pre and post on-site inspections ensuring all required certification is in place prior to handover of works.
- Represent the organisation at meetings with the Fire Service, enforcing authorities, clients and contractors on site.
- Attend on-site audits carried out by the enforcing authorities
- Ensure that all instructed fire safety works are carried out on time and to budget.
- Maintain accurate records to ensure that progress can be monitored and reported on a monthly basis to the Responsible Person.
- Respond quickly and efficiently to customer requirements (both internal and external) and have respect for their needs at all times.
- Keep up to date with new developments and activities that relate to his/her work, including legislative/regulatory/company changes..
- To work with the Fire Safety Manager, other team members and other internal teams to build, maintain and improve the Associations asset information database.
- To work with the Fire Safety Manager to ensure all administration processes in relation to running the service are completed accurately and in a timely fashion.
- To undertake validation inspections of completed works.
- To ensure that relevant contract files are maintained, are up-to-date, and that all documents necessary to meet internal audit requirements are in place.
- To work with the Fire Safety Manager to review consultant and contractor performance.
- To procure Fire Safety Work contracts across the organisation in line with the financial regulations

Essential criteria:

- A technical qualification to Degree level or equivalent in
relation to Surveying/ Construction

- Report writing
- Communication skills
- PC literate and using IT equipment, including cameras

- The post holder will have a comprehensive knowledge of
spreadsheets and databases
- General knowledge in Health and Safety issues related to
- Knowledge in Surveying, carrying out internal and external

- At least one years experience as a surveyor
- JCT Contracts
- Scheduling work
- Pre and post inspections
- Contractor meetings
- Multi agency site meetings
