Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading organisation within Central London as a Financial Controller in a hands on role working closely with the accounts team as well as senior management.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Full oversight and management of accounts team including performance reviews, training and mentoring
  • Maintain effective systems of financial controls over all company and client transactions
  • Managing accounting and controls for all company transactions, purchase ledger, expenses, payroll and sales ledger
  • Ensure client account transactions are controlled and correctly executed
  • Responsible for payroll
  • Control company credit cards and banking systems
  • Annual statutory accounts and audit
  • Ensure all entries are posted correctly and reconciled
  • Quarterly VAT returns and regional sales reports
  • Calculate corporation tax calculations and compliance
  • Financial planning and analysis; annual budgets, quarterly re-forecasts and monthly management accounts
  • Treasury; maximising interest earned on client and company funds within board defined limits and executing all current trades required
  • Ensuring compliant with all relevant statutory regulations
  • Provide relevant financial advice as appropriate
  • Deliver and manage projects on an ad hoc basis as they arise

Experience and skills required:

  • Proven number of years’ experience in a similar role
  • Fully Qualified Accountant either CIMA, ACA or ACCA or equivalent
  • Ability to manage varying stakeholders including senior management
  • Operate with a professional approach
  • High level analytical skills with ability to communicate complex information clearly
  • Team player, who can drive and promote collaboration, communication and interaction across departments
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills and ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Commercially minded
  • Strong organisation skills
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to continuously improve systems and processes
  • IT literate with particular experience in Excel and SAGE 50 Cloud
  • Proven experience working in legal or professional service environment
