An established International Manufacturer of bespoke / niche safety equipment are looking for a Financial Controller to join them to work with the FD and HR to drive the business forward, installing a Business Partner culture to the firm.

Role Purpose

To take responsibility for the Financial Control and procedures across four companies within the Group. You will be responsible for consolidation of accounts across multiple sites and multiple currencies.

What you’ll be doing:

• Preparing accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports in line with the monthly timetable.
• Assisting in the production of statutory accounts and in the investigation and completion of audit requirements.
• Providing a full accountancy service, producing a range of financial information to aid decision making, including financial analysis, budget setting, forecasting and cost control techniques.
• Overseeing the completion all Ledger accounting and related task as well as monthly payroll.
• Reviewing the bank reconciliations including investigation of un presented cheques over 4 months old and receipts over 1 month old at the calendar date of reconciliation
• Taking responsibility of the change management process, including critically appraising the financial systems, processes and controls, identifying and implementing changes to the processes and procedures to strengthen the control and increase efficiency.

Managing and leading a long established team of four whose responsibility is: 

• Preparing month end balance and reporting
• Purchase ledger invoice entry and payments / Purchase order reconciliation
• Entering and reconciling sales ledger receipts
• Reconciling aged creditors/debtors
• Operation of Cashbook
• Nominal ledger transactions and journals
• Bank reconciliations for Sterling, Dollar and Euro accounts
• Credit card reconciliations
• Petty cash and expense accounts
• VAT returns
• Forward Projections
• PAYE - Maintaining and processing payroll files
• Commission analysis
• Processing payroll / BACS
• Monthly production of management accounts
• Profit and loss & Balance sheet reconciliations and production
• Stock analysis and valuation
• General administration and staff management
• Any other duties as directed by the CEO or Board Members.

You will have Multi Currency experience from an International environment in a small to medium firm.

ACCA / CIMA / ACA Qualified is also essential
