Analytical Financial Controller, Farnborough, to £65,000

 

This is a great opportunity for a bright, forward-thinking Financial Controller with Sales Analysis and possibly Sales / Retail type industry experience to join a business enjoying a period of sustained growth and success, in an analytically focussed role.

 

This is a varied and challenging position reporting directly to the Finance Director in which you will add value to the Senior Management team by working to maximise the business’ current and ongoing opportunities from a finance perspective. Day to day duties are as follows:

 

Providing direct functional support to the FD.

Create reports to review sales by category, SKU type, promotional/non-promotional pricing.

Analyse and report account performance annually an against budget – liaising with Sales/Account Managers.

Oversee and support production of the monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements) for internal presentation and presentation to Group finance.

Produce and file UK annual Statutory Accounts in liaison with the Company’s appointed auditors.

Work with the Group and the auditors on tax liabilities and payment management.

Support the FD in preparing UK’s Forecast and Budgets.

Liaison with the Group reporting team & Company’s auditors and tax advisors.

Control of the business’ UK accounting and ERP systems.

Provide support to Directors and Managers in the business – analysis, reporting, interpretation of accounts and variances.

Sales and profitability analysis & margin reporting, supporting sales as required.

Maintenance of accurate and up to date accounting records via MS Business Central / (Navision). Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual tax, VAT and other government returns.

Manage the Accounts Payable and Payroll functions.

 

To be considered for this role you will need previous experience within a similar position and be either ACA or CIMA qualified or come with suitable QBE industry accounting ability. Experience of Management accounts preparation, Payroll / PAYE, VAT quarterly reporting, Intrastat, Corporation Tax, Tax returns eg P60s, P35s, P11Ds is essential. Experience of Financial Sales Analysis is highly desirable. Knowledge of MS Business Central / Navision would be an advantage also. You must be professional with good interpersonal and communication skills and a hands-on approach to the role and to the business is a pre-requisite.
