Key Accountabilities/Responsibility

 To provide timely, accurate and reconciled accounting information for the group to support the production of management information, financial statements, budgets and forecasts.
 To develop, maintain and operate a framework of financial policies, procedures and internal financial controls that ensures that staff are clear about their financial responsibilities, and which supports the financial integrity of all group companies.
 To develop new reports as required by operations and the Group Director of Finance for use by the team.
 To provide support and advice on accounting issues to operational staff, other support functions and where appropriate to the people we support.
 Process all returns (Cards and Housekeeping) from services. Assist with the reconciliation of complex debtors’ accounts as advised.
 To ensure that VAT, tax and statutory returns are submitted on time so that Avenues complies with its regulatory responsibilities.
 To manage the operation of finance audits at services.
 To provide cover for sales and purchase ledger as well as cashier as the need arrives.
 Maintenance of the Fixed Assets Register and managing the capital expenditure approval process.
 Maintenance of records relating to grants and liaising with the respective ‘Grant Leads’.
 Lead on managing bank accounts (opening/ closing/ bank mandates).
 Reconciliation of the payroll accounts.
 Assist with administrative functions of the Finance Department (leave records, attendance etc).

 To be the systems administrator for the accounting system, banking system, GPC purchasing card system and be responsible for training of new staff, the documenting of the system and ensuring that key controls are in place to provide assurance for the integrity and completeness of the accounting data.
 To develop and manage an accounting coding structure and the design of management information that is informative and insightful as the basis of decision making.
 To lead on systems projects those have an impact on the financial systems ensuring that they are properly managed and implemented.
 Preparation of monthly Dashboards, Report packs and despatching to the users.

• Experience of computerised systems, databases and advanced knowledge in the use of spreadsheets
• Possess the creativity and experience necessary to develop reporting information that is meaningful and informative
• Knowledge of accounting framework for charities (SORP 2015)
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Experience of planning and prioritising for a range of key objectives
