Our client, a well renowned University in South East London, is recruiting a Financial Accountant on a 12 month fixed term contract.
They are seeking an experienced and self-motivated individual to join the Financial Reporting and Compliance (FRC) team within the Finance Directorate. The successful candidate will be expected to be able to work autonomously, efficiently, and effectively as part of the team. An essential part of the role will be contributing to the preparation of the consolidated annual financial statements and preparing deliverables for the external auditors. Good working relationships with all relevant internal and external contacts will be a key facet of the role. The vacancy has arisen to provide cover for day to day operations as the Finance Directorate embark on a finance transformation project including implementation of a new system. There will also be scope for involvement in user acceptance testing of the new system.
The successful applicant must be a CCAB qualified accountant with financial reporting experience. Also required is proven experience with using computerised management information systems, excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility in their working hours and excellent self-management and organisation skills, including the ability to prioritise; and a task and goal-oriented approach.
The post is fixed term for 12 months.
