A charity in Marylebone are recruiting for a Payroll Officer to join their organisation. This is a permanent role situated in the Finance team and will report into the Payroll & Payments (Finance) Manager. As well as its fantastic central location this is a wonderful opportunity for a keen and experience payroller to develop as part of a finance team. 

Key duties include:
• Process payrolls ensuring that tax codes, entitlements, deductions and other adjustments are in line with instructions from HMRC, Development & Personnel, circuit treasurers and other clients.
• Ensure that all statutory and voluntary deductions are made correctly and remit monthly payments to the relevant recipient.
• Prepare and post payroll summaries to the nominal ledger and reconcile control accounts / loan accounts on a monthly basis.
• Update and remit RTI submissions (including FPS and EPS) to HMRC and upload tax code changes.
• Reconcile and remit monthly payments to HMRC for income tax, national insurance contributions and any other statutory recoveries.
• Produce monthly debit statements, deal with queries from staff, and provide payroll information to Development & Personnel, HMRC and other government agencies.
• Run annually the payroll year-end routine, ensuring that the records reconcile to the net pay, PAYE and other payments on the annual returns.
• Prepare bank reconciliations for all bank and deposit accounts for which the team is responsible promptly resolving any outstanding items.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Finance Manager and the Director of Financial Operations.




All applicants must have prior experience processing start to finish UK payroll. You must possess a thorough knowledge of payroll legislation and manual calculation, and will ideally have experience with high-volume, multi-sited payroll. You will also have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and attention to detail, and will be a strong team player with a proven ability to deliver set deadlines.
