I am working with a client in Harrogate to recruit a Finance Manager to cover an 11 month maternity leave.
The working environment is friendly and the finance team is of a medium size.

Key responsibilities to include:

• Responsible for purchase ledger maintenance, processing and control; including processing all supplier and other sundry payments.
• Controlling the sales ledger - to include chasing of outstanding debtors.
• Working closely with the rest of the finance team in preparing the Management Accounts.
• Co-ordinating the annual audit and liaising with external auditors.
• Short and long term cash flow management to determine the level of external funding required and assisting in the process of obtaining that funding.
• Trade Finance and other funding applications and administration, maintaining key external banking relationship.
• Monitoring the foreign exchange requirements and other treasury management duties.
• Stock control, in close working relationship with the warehouse team.
• Understanding of the business systems that drive sales and stock transactions to ensure appropriate financial controls are in place.
• Completion of monthly payroll processing and associated statutory returns
• Preparation of the quarterly VAT and Duty returns and managing legal and statutory requirements.
• Liaising with external clients/customers and building relationships.
• Ad-hoc project and business analysis work.



Person specification:

• Part qualified (CIMA/ACCA) or qualified by experience.
• Demonstratable knowledge of payroll and pensions.
• Experienced in all areas of financial control.
• Experience of, and confidence in managing external relationships with auditors, banks and other professional advisors.
• Experience of staff management and the ability to motivate and lead a team.
• Ad-hoc project and business analysis work.
