My Hammersmith based high end main contractor client is eagerly seeking a dynamic and assertive Finance and office manager to join their friendly and sociable team. As the sole person in finance joining this client at a time of unprecedented growth, you will be responsible for the following range of varied duties in their busy and pressurised but very successful environment:
• Purchase ledger duties including inputting, coding and matching of supplier invoices
• Receivables duties including raising of sales invoices, cash allocation and preparation of client statements
• Quarterly VAT returns
• Assistance with the preparation of payroll before submission to the payroll bureau, along with payroll journal creation onto the general ledger
• Credit control of overdue invoices via use of a professional and friendly manner
• Bank reconciliation
• Balance sheet reconciliation
• Journal entry
• Preparation of cash flow reporting
• Supportive HR general duties
• Petty Cash
• Tracking of supplier costs and effective negotiation with suppliers to secure the best prices for the business
• Providing support to the quantity surveyor with invoicing and contract duties
• Ensuring insurance renewal dates are tracked for subcontractors
• Ad Hoc Office Manager duties (uniform, stationery ordering etc)
• Ability to jump in and help out other team members when required

In addition the successful candidate will have:
Proficiency in the accounting software Xero
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Proactive and confident approach to daily tasks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail
Ability to sustain a level of professionalism among staff and clientele.
Positive, can do attitude.
A willingness to motivate and support other team members
Experience in the construction industry not necessary but would be an advantage
Working Hours & Remuneration
Working pattern: Monday – Friday (8am – 5pm)
20 days annual leave + bank holidays

Whilst this role may not suit a studying part ACCA/ CIMA qualified candidate due to the use of an external accountant from Trial Balance onward, there is future scope to bring in a junior accounts clerk in the future depending on performance of the business.
