This is a pivotal role for an established successful company who are looking to recruit someone to manage all operations of a very busy finance department. Overseeing and support of the production and collection of invoices, payroll of contract and internal staff and management of the company accounts.


Accounts
• Assist with the timely and accurate completion and submission of all company returns, including company accounts, dormant company accounts, annual returns, PAYE, CIS, VAT, P11Ds
• Review on an ongoing basis the Company’s profit and loss and maintain control of costing, budgets and forecasts
• Cash management
• Demonstrate and maintain a sound working knowledge of relevant legislation and legislative changes, identifying any impact to the Company and implementing the necessary systems to ensure compliance and minimise risk
• Lead the external annual accounts audit process
• Responsible for the provision of accurate, effective and timely management information

Payroll and Monthly Payroll
• To manage the operative weekly payrolls and ensure all operatives are paid on time, every time with as few errors as possible
• Complete the staff payroll, timely and accurately
• To ensure all invoices are raised as accurately as possible and have the correct supporting documentation

Credit Control
• To ensure companies are paying to terms and within agreed credit limits
• To exceed the bank’s collection target every month
• To reduce the 90 and 120 day columns to zero
• To reduce debtor days
• To safeguard the Company by ensuring companies that exceed terms/credit limits are dealt with quickly
• To review credit insurance limits and provide the credit insurers with all relevant information
• To ensure all invoices are raised as accurately as possible and have the correct supporting documentation
• To ensure all disputes are dealt with effectively, ensuring the relevant people are involved and effective in dealing with them



Part Qualified Accountant.
Previous experience of all operations within a busy statutory accounting department.
Experience of overall control over a large weekly and monthly payroll function.
Experience of overall control of a credit control department.
Experience of systems improvement.
Ideally industry experience within construction, engineering or oil and gas company.
