I’m currently partnering with a Top 25 FTSE business in the search for a stand out Accountant to take on the challenge of a brand new Finance Business Partner position. This is a role for the ambitious, commercially minded Accountant who wants to provide both challenge and support to a top level team to ensure they have the necessary insight to drive key decisions. The package on offer is excellent with a great basic, car, pension and bonus stricture. Genuine career progression in the short to medium term.

• Ensures finance is at the heart of the decision-making process; brings vigour to the evaluation & implementation of value-enhancing decisions
• Brings financial understanding to a business decision by ensuring alternatives are thoroughly evaluated and the optimum decision taken; uses appropriate business tools to support decision-making
• Develops a good understanding of the sales profile, cost base, customer profitability and true cost to serve in order to identify opportunities for commercial and operational improvements
• Focuses on streamlining our processes and evolving reporting to suit the specific requirements of the business over time
• Overall accountability for timely and accurate P&L and Balance Sheet reporting, forecasting and budgeting including causals and analysis
• Ensure reporting and processes are simple, streamlined and continuously improving
• Provide relevant, understandable information, insight and challenge to the team
• Support with analysis and insight to enable informed decision-making
• Lead on projects to deliver the 5 year plan
• Ensure the Trading Controls Framework and other relevant policies are understood within the business and receive ‘buy-in’
• Ensure Trading Control monitoring procedures are up to date and appropriate
• Manage and develop the Management Accountant
• Oversee the credit limit review process to ensure applications are complete and have the appropriate financial analysis
• Oversee the sales commissions calculation process, working with both Finance and the Sales teams to ensure smooth operation and a well-understood scheme
• Accountable for the processes of position reporting, blends/straights onerous contract modelling, profit-share reconciliations, supplier reconciliations and self-billing.
