The Client:

The Role:

To assist the Financial Controller and Business Support Manager to ensure the smooth operation of all finance matters. To take responsibility for accurate recording and reporting of the Company’s first line finance functions and to support colleagues in dealing with finance issues


Job Description:

 Purchase Ledger Duties
• Prepare purchase orders and match with purchase invoices
• Process purchase invoices to include obtaining authorisation, scanning and filing
• Produce supplier statement reconciliations
• Deal with supplier queries
• Undertake overall review of purchase ledger and follow up of any unusual items

 Sales Ledger Duties
• Raise, process and distribute sales invoices
• Follow up and chase payments with local authorities
• Produce weekly cash flow forecast

 Credit Card Processing

 Fixed assets
• Maintain the fixed asset register on Sage
• Maintain the IT inventory list (Excel based)
• Maintain the vehicle inventory list
• Analyse motoring expenses
• Lead the search for new vehicles as and when required


 Management accounts reporting
• Produce monthly reporting pack in Microsoft Excel analysing various profit and loss items including:
o Agency staff analysis;
o Timesheet analysis;
o Recruitment costs;
o Travel and subsistence costs; and
o Rent and rates.
• Produce monthly analysis of Education resources expenditure
• Distribute budget information with monthly actuals and liaise with budget holders

 Other duties
• Introduce and run improved cash collection procedures
• Undertake petty cash returns
• Carry out IT induction for new staff


Requirements:

 Essential
• Excellent IT skills and confident in the use of all Microsoft Office applications
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and able to produce work with a high level of accuracy
• Good organisational and workload management skills. Ability to prioritise work
• Integrity
• Ability to analyse data
• Problem solving ability


 Desirable
• Knowledge of Sage Financials

 Essential
• Excellent [or at least Good] computer skills
• Aged over 21 (National Minimum Standards)
• Minimum of Grade A –C GCSE in English and Maths
• Willingness to undertake further study in Accountancy
