The Role:
To provide comprehensive support in delivering the finance and administrative
functions of the Academy.

Responsibilities:
- Assistance to the Finance Manager.
- To process purchase orders, receive delivered goods and process invoices.
- To control of petty cash, ensuring receipts are obtained for all purchases and proper records are maintained.
- Receipt, recording, safekeeping and banking of all cash income.
- To maintain filing systems, ensuring that records are suitable for audit.
- To assist the Finance Manager with the production of financial reports for internal and the Academies use.

Assistance to members of staff with regard to financial policies and procedures:
- To ensure that approved procedures are followed in ordering, receipting and authorising purchases of goods and services.
- To make sure that invoices for services are raised promptly and receipt of income monitored.
- To ensure that all cash received is properly receipted, recorded and banked.
- Administrative Assistance, where needed.
- To answer the telephone and undertake administrative/reception duties as required.
- To take ownership for various projects to meet the needs of the academy in order to achieve project goals and assist the effectiveness of the academy.

Other
- To undertake various other responsibilities as directed by line manager or FRD.

Experience:
- Experience of purchase ledger and accounts receivable procedures.
- Experience of working with computerised financial systems.
- Experience of financial procedures, cash handling and cash security.
- Administrative experience.

Specific skills:
- Excellent literacy and communication skills, including written and oral.
- Excellent numerical and financial skills.
- Ability to organise one’s own tasks with minimum supervision.
- Understands the importance of confidentiality and discretion.
- Highly competent computer skills, in particular using Word, Excel, Internet, Email and financial databases.
