I am recruiting for a 6 month interim role with a market leading business based in central Southampton, you will be a strong management accountant with experience of business partnering and working with stakeholders to analyse budgets and overhead costs with a view to making cost savings.

This is a high profile role sitting within Corporate Finance, the key objective is to business partner with the senior leaders of the business to enable them to understand and manage their overhead budgets effectively and efficiently and identifying risks & opportunities in a timely fashion.


Main Activities and Responsibilities

- Develop robust and insightful overheads reporting including an increased focus on analysis and overspend.
- Develop strong relationships to drive understanding of financials and identify cost saving opportunities with key business partners through open dialogue and regular face-to-face meetings.
- Working with our business partners, prepare detailed monthly forecasts providing sufficient challenge/support to ensure accurate forecasting.
- Manage development of the payroll forecasting model and suite of payroll reports. This will involve regular meetings with HR Business Partners;
- Maintain the headcount data driven by the payroll entries as well as overseeing the monthly headcount movement analysis.
- Maintain the master copy of the cost centre mapping table, being responsible for accurately recording all restructures and business changes;
- To ensure that financial information is prepared accurately and with due care and in accordance with applicable financial accounting standards and practices and that transactions are reflected in the GL.
- To assist the business in understanding their reported financial results and forecasts to enable them to better understand their activities and costs and therefore to support the making of business decisions based on timely and accurate financial information.
- To contribute effectively to the monthly forecasting and annual budget processes for all areas under the remit of the role, including reviewing and appraising contributions received from the business teams.
- To ensure the timely production and review of all balance sheet reconciliations and journals in accordance with accounting policies.
- To assist the Financial Reporting Manager to drive change in business processes and practices.
