My client is a long established and successful leisure operator based in the heart of Southend-On-Sea, now operating 7 sites across the UK. They are currentlly looking for their next General Manager to take ownership of the club and drive both Customer relations and commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities: 

To control and operate on a day to day basis, driving commercial and team performance.
The General Manager will take full ownership and responsibility for the business and facility on a day to day basis you will need to drive sales, membership and bottom line performance.

You will be responsible for delivering a safe, clean and professional facility with high standards and great service.

- To promote and enforce the company’s Brand Standards and Values through personal behaviour and by challenging behaviour in others that is contrary to the Standards and Values.

-To ensure all customers are given the best possible service and standards including but not limited to the following:
-To demonstrate at all times a passion for customer service and high standards.
-To ensure that every customer receives outstanding service every time they visit 

-To recruit, induct, train and retain a high performing team including but not limited to the following:

-To create, develop, lead and inspire a high performing team to ensure that they reach their full potential
- To ensure that all team members are competent in all aspects of their role
-To develop the sales and customer service culture throughout the team
-Ensuring the maintenance of a highly motivated team that constantly strives to enhance the customer service
- To assist in the identification of training needs, carry out the training of new team members and ongoing training of the existing team
- To oversee the team of personal trainers to ensure the delivery of a consistent customer focussed and professional service

To ensure the highest standards of professional performance and control including but not limited to the following:

-To meet agreed financial targets, incorporating member retention and expenditure control
-To ensure that financial and operational controls operate effectively at all times

The General Manager will possess and continually demonstrate the following personal characteristics:

-Enthusiastic, customer focused, reliable
-Experience of working in a customer facing environment
-Interested/committed to active lifestyle/gym/health
-Minimum of 2 years experience of leading team
-Experience of taking ownership and driving results
-Ability to take on complete ownership and total commitment
-Passionate about good service and can demonstrate where you have delivered this
-Ability to work shifts including weekends
-A focus on and passion for ensuring members stay at the gym and achieve their goals
