Role purpose - Capital Projects
To develop design and works proposals and specifications, undertake procurements, place and manage contracts to ensure the timely completion of facilities work packages at all Museum of London sites to agreed timelines, budgets and quality criteria.
For authorised projects - to draw up contract documentation; conduct quotation/tender exercises in accordance with the procurement policy; oversee contractor set up; ensure compliance with Health & Safety, including CDM requirements; monitor work progress; monitor project expenditure; agree stage payments and final accounts; draw up lists of defects outstanding and agree contract completion.
To draw up costed proposals for future major maintenance works projects based on existing documentation and deficiency records for submission for Board approval.
To contribute to other major maintenance and capital works projects, either managing, supervising or overseeing or contributing to wider project teams.
To ensure that all projects are designed and managed within and are compliant with current legislation, particularly for Health & Safety, including CDM, fire safety and DDA.
To ensure all materials used or brought to site by contractors are adequately documented and that appropriate COSHH records are maintained.
To prepare project budgets, monitor expenditure and report on outturn against programme and budget.
The role requires a basic disclosure to be carried out.
You are a qualified Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services or Building Surveyor.
