An Exams Officer / SIMS Manager / Admissions Officer is needed for an ongoing role - 
Job purpose
1. Responsibility for the administration, organisation and smooth
running of public and internal examinations
2. SIMS Database(updating student information,
addition/removal of students and keep course manager up to
date and to complete the end of year procedures)
3. Oversea the census information (3 times
per year)
4. The coordination of casual admissions for all year groups
including overseeing the Year 6 admission process
Key responsibilities:-
1. To ensure the school adheres to the JCQ regulations for
all exams and passes all inspections carried out by the JCQ
2. To be responsible for examination entries for external exams
to the examination boards for public exams, GCSE, AS A
Level, BTEC and all Vocational examinations, ensuring all
deadline dates are adhered to avoid late fees.
3. To register all students on Vocational and BTEC courses
ensuring no later fees are incurred
4. Charge any late fees incurred to departments where
5. To take responsibility for the examination department budget
6. To liaise with Heads of Department and Faculty on pupil
7. Wherever possible, to make arrangements for pupils to take examinations in subjects they have studied elsewhere. This applies particularly to examinations in
community languages
8. To disseminate information about public exams to staff,
pupils and their parents, in conjunction with Vice Principal
9. To liaise with staff , parents, pupils and to deal with
complaints and queries about public examinations
10. To sort and securely store examination papers as they arrive
11. To be responsible for the daily running of public and internal
examinations, including practical examinations and to make
arrangements for furniture in examination rooms
12. To create the invigilation timetable and provide information
about the examination timetable, e.g. dates/times of
examinations and the number of entrants
13. To sort out all timetable clashes and make appropriate
provisions for pupils
14. To brief pupils on examination procedures and conduct, and
to produce guidelines for staff and pupils
15. To provide relevant statistics on examination entry and
examination results to the Vice Principal (Assessment)
16. To be responsible for the examination stationery
17. To check DfE statistics and examination results information
before publication
18. To complete examination entries using IT wherever possible
and ensuring manual back as appropriate
19. To copy and distribute results to students
20. To heck certificates and collate ready for collection by
21. To retrieve costs of examination entry from absentees
