We are delighted to be representing the East of England Ambulance Service to find them Emergency Call Handlers to join their fantastic team. You will need to be available to start on the 2nd April and be available without any commitments for the first two weeks whilst you are in training.
The Emergency dispatcher is responsible for the management of emergency ambulance resources across the East of England Ambulance Service. The dispatcher will manage an area of the Trust and will deploy emergency ambulances, rapid response vehicles and officers to 999 calls and calls from health care professionals.
The dispatcher will manage all ambulance resources using the computer dispatch system and communicate with resources using digital radio and messaging services within the emergency operating centre. No two days are the same, the work is busy but very rewarding!
This is an ongoing temporary position, with the potential to go permanent. You will be working 37 hours a week in 24 hour call centre. Due to this, hours will occasionally be unsocial and you will be required to work weekends and bank holidays. You would be provided with a 10 week rota once your training is complete so you will have plenty of opportunity to plan your lifestyle around the shifts.
You will also receive pay uplifts if working after 20:00 or before 07:00 (£13.38) Saturdays (£13.38) Sunday's (£16.47) or bank holidays (£16.47).
