JOB SUMMARY: To manage all aspects of a high quality domiciliary care service which meets the needs of our customers and delivers a viable business return for the organisation.
To manage CQC requirements and lead the business on meeting those and other professional standards and inspection.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

General Management and Responsibilities

It is a requirement of this role that the post holder is able to successfully take on the registration of the service which may cover several village sites as well as the community.

It is the responsibility of the role that the post holder keeps up to date with all current changes in legislation and guidance that affects the running of the service.

Day to day management of the staff and clients is the responsibility of the post holder and they will have staff and plans in place to ensure their service continues to run in an effective and safe way in their absence.

To ensure that relevant management qualifications are undertaken in order to satisfy legal requirements and Personal Development and that mandatory training undertaken by all care staff is also completed and kept up to date as part of the managers role.

Operational Management

Ensure the branch provides services which are flexible, responsive and non-discriminatory to meet the requirements of the clients and regulators, whilst maintaining cost efficiency and delivering business plan requirements.

Audit and review the quality of care delivered by the branch, ensuring fundamental care standards and that company quality procedures are met and exceeded.

To completely represent the Company and maintain effective relationships with regulators, clients and their representatives, potential clients and external professionals which contribute to business efficiency.

To recognise opportunities and communicate initiatives which compliment Company objectives.

To develop and maintain good assessment and review procedures which become the foundation for appropriate care plans.

Promote the Company’s complaints procedure, responding efficiently and ensuring that effective investigations are undertaken where appropriate, in accordance with internal and external requirements.

Undertake On Call duties in Out of Office hours along with other designated staff with the branch.

Continue to keep a hands on approach to care, providing cover where necessary, when helping to growing the business or in case of emergencies and sickness.

To liaise with other agencies involved with the client to ensure the provision of integrated services.

To promote a holistic approach to care which significantly exceeds the national fundamental care standards, as well as the service delivery of our competitors.

To monitor and manage health and safety issues within the branch and community workers, take steps to minimize risk, seeking external support and advice where appropriate.

To report any concerns and actions required to the Regional Manager or designated person as they occur.

To ensure all legislative and regulatory notifications are completed in a timely fashion and submitted.

To work with Regional Manager and other Branch Managers to continually improve the services and is policies and procedures.

People Management

Line manage branch staff – recruiting in accordance with policy, managing performance, monitoring and supervision. This includes daily guidance and coaching as well as formal supervision and development.

To ensure that all new staff are inducted appropriately and in a timely way, meeting all fundamental care standards and Company requirements.

To ensure that all staff undertake a development and training program which meets both company and national minimum standards for training required by CQC and other governing bodies and that training and development is reviewed and audited on a regular basis.

Business Skills

Deliver a plan which develops the service in line with the Company strategic direction and addresses the needs of the local market.

To implement and maintain, in line with regulatory and Company requirements, accurate and up to date records.

Control all costs within the branch, including resources, training and marketing and offer recommendations relating to pay and charge decisions.

To be able to prioritise workload and make decisions based on the conflicting needs of the service.
