Development Manager (Greenfield role) – Birmingham – Salary £50-65k DOE (No remote working)

My industry leading and multiple award winning client have a fantastic opportunity for a Development manager to join a successful market leading client who have had double digit growth and last year posted a turnover in excess of £70million is going through a digital transformation. The digital transformation includes changing the platform and hosting and development techniques.

The role is based in Birmingham, developing high-quality user experiences for its clients.

The client are currently going through a major digital transformation and the introduction of new technologies and solutions. As the client are in the Greenfield phase they are looking for the right Development manager to take this opportunity to make their mark and shape the future of the business.

As the Development manager, you will be liaising and reporting directly to the Director of IT that will cover architecture and smooth delivery of their flagship website using new technologies and solutions. The role will involve communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders internally and externally. The Development manager will be working closely with the development team and assisting the growth of the personnel within the development function.

The main responsibility of the role of Development manager will be diversifying their technology expertise and ensuring the teams are equally capable in .Net and Non-.Net Solutions. Currently the ratios between .net and .net solutions is 95%:5% and the client are looking to move more to a 65%:35% split.

Core skills required from the development manager are:

• Core skills in .Net development
• Understanding of PHP and Java
• Good understanding of MVC and other pattern libraries
• Good experience with database design and development
• Good understanding of eCommerce platforms
• Experience with CMS such as Umbraco or Drupal
• Good understanding of information architecture and taxonomies
• Experiencing in delivering end to end solutions
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
