REED are proud to present a temporary DBS Analyst position with NYP at their Northallerton site.
Pay Rate: £8.68 per hour
Hours: 0830 - 1700 (Monday - Friday)
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) forms part of the wider Information Management function and provides an enhanced disclosure service within the Quality Assurance Framework requirements and agreed timescales.
The post holder will on a day-to-day basis exercise research on local and national police systems for the purposes of disclosure decision-making in accordance with Disclosure and Barring Service requirements and best practice.
Provide specialist advice to members of public, police and other departments on all matters relating to DBS. Both verbally and in writing. Respond to routine requests in accordance with memorandums of understanding.
When required, work with the DBS Quality Assurance Officers to conduct reviews and quality assurance checks on decisions for no disclosure.
When required, work with the DBS Quality Assurance Officers to respond to queries emails or letters, providing factual information to assist the originator of the request
When required by the Quality Assurance Officer to assist in the completion of escalated checks whilst ensuring normal workloads are being dealt with and maintained.
When required under the direction of the DBS Quality Assurance Officer assist in the taking of fingerprints of applicants for identification and elimination purposes. Ascertaining whether the person is the same individual as the photo and other information provided.
Where necessary, liaise with other forces and outside agencies. In order to gain further information, enabling a thorough investigation of all information relating to the applicant, or any third parties if processing with a home based application.
In cases which contain possible sensitive information, to liaise with the Standards & Compliance Unit (DBS) to ensure the information is dealt with and released in the appropriate format whilst still maintaining QAF.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Must possess good IT skills, including MS Office.
Ability to make decisions within specified parameters and act on own initiative.
Questioning, logical and analytical mind to assist decision making.
The ability to work as an effective team member.
