My client are a SE London local government officer who are looking for a skilled Data Analyst.

The role:

Main roles and responsibilities
• Produce performance a suite of monthly performance reports
• Develop the functionality and capability of performance plus – particularly as it relates to performance reporting
• Contribute to wider organisation-wide learning and development as it relates to performance management
• Support the development and effective functioning of a user group

Key outputs/ deliverables
• Monthly performance reports
• Suite of new reporting tools to be used across the organisational hierarchy
• Data visualisation/Desktop dashboards for senior managers via performance plus
• Manuals/ learning aids for users

The successful candidate:

Knowledge and experience
• Knowledge of performance management frameworks within which local government operates eg: adults social care, schools and children’s social care
• Knowledge and understanding of what makes for effective performance management
• A good understanding of the management information needs of officers across all levels of an organisational hierarchy
• Experience and excellent working knowledge of the performance plus performance management system or similar business intelligence system
• Practical experience of designing and developing performance dashboards and other reporting tools
• A good knowledge and understanding of business workflow processes
• Knowledge and experience of data quality management

• IT systems development using performance plus or similar performance management software package
• An understanding and experience of working in SQL and advanced excel
• Data visualisation understanding and experience
• Basic systems maintenance
• Highly analytical
• Excellent project management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly numerate

• Able to work to tight deadlines
• Able to work on own initiative with the minimum amount of supervision
• Able to ensure that standards of data quality management are maintained
• Able to deal with both complexity and ambiguity

• Output focused and outcome orientated
