Customer Service Opportunity 

Do you have previous experience in Customer Service roles? Are you comfortable dealing with high numbers of calls in a fast paced environment? Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to work with a local authority as part of a dynamic team?

If yes, we have a fantastic opportunity with Rochdale Council as a Call Handler within the Adult Social Care department. This role is available with an immediate start on an initial 3 month temporary assignment.

The principle duties within this positions will enable you to utilise your skills in customer service to provide vital support services for users and customers of Rochdale Council’s Adult Care services. You will operate as front line support for the team and will therefore be able to respond and resolve a high volume of correspondences over the phone.

These calls may include queries regarding sensitive issues and will require excellent levels of customer care in order to effectively deal with potentially difficult situations in a calm and appropriate way.

You will be provided with screening and call handling tools and templates in order to make detailed records of each call, however, an ability to use your own initiative will be essential.

As the ideal candidate you will therefore have:

- A strong understanding and extensive practical experience of customer service.

- Experience providing over the phone support to high volumes of customers.

- Ability to communicate effectively in challenging situations.

- Ability to listen and demonstrate understanding of callers’ needs and requirements.

- Understanding of utilising IT systems in order to take and maintain accurate records.

The successful candidate will be able to thrive in a fast paced and outcome focused environment. You will possess great attention to detail and be able to multi-task effectively.

Previous experience working within a Local Authority environment will be advantageous.
