Reed Colchester are currently working with a leading business who specialise in manufacturing and distributing equipment and parts to the plant hire, construction and utility industry, who are currently going through expansion that now require an enthusiastic Customer Services Agent in a fast-paced environment.
You will be responsible for handling incoming calls, processing customer enquiries and orders, and upselling. A successful customer services agent must be friendly and persuasive. You must be able to understand the customer’s requirements in a short time and present solutions that meet their needs. The key goal for this role is to ensure the customer enjoys a fantastic experience regardless of the circumstances.

This person needs to be passionate about delivering exception customer service and maintaining long term relationships, with the unique ability of closing sales over the phone. They must tenacious about follow up and be accountable for results. Going the extra mile is critical.

• Answering incoming calls enthusiastically and promptly
• Ensuring customer calls are handled professionally and that the customer is kept updated frequently
• Processing enquiries/quotes efficiently
• Processing Orders efficiently
• Having a grasp of the product range and an overview of technical terms
• Following up quotes
• Upselling wherever possible
• Ask pertinent questions to understand the customer’s requirements
• Persuade the customer to buy by demonstrating how merchandise or services meet their needs
• Match appropriate products with the right customers
• Record the customer’s personal information accurately in a computer system
• Go the “extra mile” to ensure customer satisfaction
• Keep accurate records of calls and sales and record useful information to build a value database for marketing

• Must love speaking with customers using the phone
• Must be organised
• Must listen and obtain the relevant details
• Patient and able to handle customer rejection
• Accurate
• Empathetic but also persuasive
• Ability to learn and retain product knowledge
• Proven track record of telephone based customer service role
• Working knowledge of relevant computer programs (e.g. CRM software) and telephone systems
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proficient in English
• Skilled in negotiation and dealing with complaints
• Persistent and results-oriented
• Well spoken
• Well presented

• Monday – Friday 07:30-16:30
• Immediately starts available
•Salary £20- £25,000 per annum DOE
