A leading financial institution in London City is looking for a Credit Analyst - Underwriter to join their growing team in their main branch. The main duties of the role will be processing and underwriting of commercial retail credit proposals.

Essential to this role: At least 2 years underwriting experience or assessing credit proposals on Buy to Let.

!! In order to be considered for this role you will need to be immediately available !!

Responsibility within the Role:
• Support the Head of Retail Credit in all areas of the Retail Credit Department.
• Manage, assess and process all lending proposals from the Retail network of Buy to Let & Commercial Retail Credit and present proposals to Risk Committees.
• Responsible for the annual review for existing credit portfolio loans, ensuring that borrowing requirements and covenants are being adhered to.
• Minimizing credit risks with loan applications to fit Banks operating policies and procedures.
• Clear rationale to agree and reject applications, prior to submitting applications to the Head Retail Credit.
• Monitor loan portfolios, identifying early arrears & accounts before the situation arises.
• Ensure credit decisions are made within regulatory standards and adhere to TCF principles and Customer First standards.
• Design & deliver credit training to staff to ensure full understanding of policies and practices.
• Liaising with Solicitors/Valuation Firms for end to end solution for credit proposals.
• Presentation to committees for introduction of any new / existing product.

Key Skills
• Competent user of Excel, Word and Outlook
• Knowledge of UK regulatory framework, principles and rules
• Knowledge of UK lending environment
• Specific skills should include
• Previous Bookkeeping and accounts support experience
• Able to produce reports and Spreadsheets to a quality standard
• Good at organising and managing own area of responsibility
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Able to prioritise
