A Cover Supervisor's duties
The Cover Supervisor’s main job is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set. This serves as a fantastic opportunity for those looking for a career in teaching to gain invaluable experience working in a variety of different schools. Throughout your time, you will be given high level of responsibility and while experienced support is always available if needed, you will be trusted with a strong amount of autonomy.

In this rewarding job, you are expected to:
• Effectively communicate and deliver the work in a creative and engaging manner
• Managing the behaviour of pupils, ensuring they are focused and committed to learning
• Respond to any questions from the pupils and deal with any immediate issues
• Differentiate between individual needs to make sure every student is effectively challenged

Qualifications needed to become a cover supervisor
Cover supervisors are often highly qualified in their particular field. Many schools specify an honours degree as a minimum educational requirement and like their Cover Supervisors to have experience of working with young people. – This is what we are looking for!

Skills and knowledge
The following are desirable:
• Highly adaptable as there is no regular timetable
• Having a thick skin – Dealing with young People
• Behaviour management skills
• Being diplomatic
• Want to have fun and enjoy working in a diverse environment


We are looking for individuals who are keen and enthusiastic in supporting children’s learning, preferably educational professionals who will be available a minimum of 3 days a week.
