Our Client in North Bristol is currently recruiting for  a controller/Shipper

Provide a professional distribution service to customers, accurately taking their orders and translating them into a distribution schedule that account for; the needs of the customer, optimisation and most cost effective use of the fleet based on our customer’s networks UK wide. Flexibly working within the Operational Team, becoming multi-skilled in other roles to meet the needs of the business whilst maintaining good rapport and effective working relationships with other team members, drivers, suppliers and the customer. While building a customer contact book for spot hires optimising on extra revenue and seeking opportunities. Assist the Transport Manager to move the fleet where needed while capturing data, records to complete the highest standard of legal haulage compliance. You must be enhancing the customers experience and creating more value over our competitors. A keen eye for detail, self-motivator, able to priorities your work load so things get done correctly first time. System and traffic board details maintained with regular monitoring of driver’s performance, problem solving daily and weekly obstacles to aid the upkeep of vehicles on the road. Regular contact with Pullmans and dealership workshops in applying pressure to get the vehicle up and running. Deal with customer complaints promptly and professional while supporting the Operational Managers in their investigations.

* Build & Maintain solid working relationships with customers and their middle management,
* Orders – Accurately take order information and input onto the system
* Planning – scheduling and ensuring timely delivery of orders agreed with customers, optimising cost through effective utilisation. Utilisation of the traffic board and the mapping packages.
* Customer Service – Respond positively & confidently to our customers’ requirements
Making decisions on optimum fleet numbers, transfers & requirement for hired vehicles in conjunction with the Transport Manager & Operational Managers
* Dealing with complainants in a professional manner, which are closed out to the customer request.
* Understand your own fleet earnings v cost of hiring externally/transferring - Regular communicate with internal customers and external customer, sites to plan delivery programs and monitor service levels. Multi Skilling – Gain a basic understanding and knowledge of other roles that exist within the team
* Maintain real time progress of scheduled orders allowing you to identify potential problem areas and pro-actively resolve them
* Proactively communicate with customers to explain progress of deliveries (in particular immediate notification of late arrivals).
* Liaison with drivers to ensure plant and equipment is in place for planned deliveries.
* Daily liaison with Transport Manager, Operational Managers to review next day program
* W.T.D/rest breaks. Drivers paperwork, with regards to maintenance reports that you will need to monitor receipt of the Maintenance Manager to keep the fleet up keep. Site tickets, tip tickets, defects, timesheets etc.
* Regular communicate with internal customers and external customer, programs and monitor service levels to allow flexibility of resources across the business
Gain a basic understanding and knowledge of other roles that exist within the team
