This job opportunity is being offered on a full time, permanent basis which means you will be eligible for Southend’s benefits package (holiday, pension, etc.) alongside support from a knowledgeable and experienced team. The main focus of the post will be the contract monitoring arrangements to support children, adults and older people either at home or in care services. You will be in a key position to liaise with external providers with the key purpose to give advice and support to operational managers, social workers, and finance staff.
This role is focused on being community/field base as you will have front line experience when undertaking visits to care providers to monitor their performance which a focus on assessing the quality being provided therefore ensuring individuals are safeguarded.
The post holder may also be involved in preparing tender documentation and managing the contract letting process through to the award of contract alongside project managing contracts to ensure that they meet key performance indicators. There will be a key focus on the implementation of new contracts and monitoring provider performance against these so this role will offer a chance to make a real difference within this significant service area.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate that they have a proven track record in driving up and sustaining improvements in care delivery alongside demonstrable experience of successful negotiation. Having experience within social care will be advantageous for this role as it is a very interactive role and sensitivity is required due to the client/customer base. Also, being able to work with improvement plans (alongside the CQC) and an awareness of provider costs and challenges in this area would be beneficial to this role as there will be involvement in financial negotiations with care providers.
