My Client are a leading engineering driven technology provider working largely within the aerospace and defence industries.
We now have a new role for an experienced Sub-Contracts Manager who has an excellent and proven background in procurement.
The role will be responsible for the;
- Procurement of Sub-Contracts within a heavy engineering focused manufacturing environment
- Implement Sourcing strategies for suppliers
- Assess supplier risk and mitigate this
- Prepare bid packages
- Conduct Bidder conferences
- Evaluate proposals
- Make sub-contractor recommendations to the business
- Write awards
- Draft contract
In particular the procurement professional who takes on this Sub-Contracts Manager role will have an excellent ability to work with engineering & technical teams and translate design requirements into sourcing strategies that puts in place appropriate sub-contractor suppliers.
The suitable candidate will definitely need to either have security clearance at an SC level (or similar/above) or be able to pass the security clearance vetting process.
They will have strong experience of managing suppliers within the engineering industry sector and will be able to manage cross functional teams.
The Sub-Contracts Manager will come with experience of analysing the effectiveness of a supply chain and being able to develop and implement improvements where needed.
There is also a need to have very strong practical hands on experience of the entire procurement life-cycle and will have worked in the engineering industry.
