Reed Community Care are currently recruiting for a Support Worker to provide support to a young man with an acquired brain injury in Southport.
The client is an independent and friendly individual with good communication skills. He is currently attending college and is a big football fan. He also enjoys going to the gym, swimming and volunteering. He is a wheelchair user whilst out in the community, however he manages this independently.
The Support Sessions
Your role will be to engage with the client in the home and out in the community.
Collecting the client from college in the provided mobility vehicle.
Playing video games with the client or accompanying him to the gym.
Cooking alongside the client at mealtimes.
Promoting a routine in the shifts and a balance of new activities.
Supporting and prompting the client to utilise his rehabilitation tasks, systems and strategies.
Supporting the client’s communication skills in the community.
The shift times are as follows;
Alternate Saturdays – 10 am - 6 pm
6 months+ experience as a Support Worker
Car driver with business insurance
Interest in sports such as football and swimming would be beneficial
DBS on the update service is desirable
