Great opportunity available - do you want to feel proud of your day knowing you have helped someone live life to the best of their ability?  This role can be challenging at times and patience and understanding are key. It may not be the role for everyone, but it could be the perfect role for you.

I am looking to recruit a female outreach worker to join a small, dedicated team working within the community supporting a young lady. She needs support to maintain and manage her tenancy as well as practical, social, and emotional support to enable her to live safely and independently in the community.  She is bright, bubbly, and engaging with a great sense of humour, she can also be challenging due to her autism and mental health issues.

I am looking for someone who has the following skills:

Patience to build up a good relationship.  It can take some time for her to engage with someone new, she will push the boundaries to test to see if you will give up.

Sincerity, this young lady will easily distinguish the difference between someone who does and does not genuinely care about supporting her to achieve.

Tenacious and with the ability to see past negative behaviours and attitudes, these are her defences and not character flaws.

Comfortable around dogs as she has her own dog, he is very friendly, and part of the support is to walk her dog with her.

I am looking for someone who has a strong background in youth work, mental health and autism and can provide 2 care related references.  This young person has some very complex mental health issues, some substance misuse issues and demonstrates some PDA behaviours.
