Do you have the commitment and values to make a real difference to vulnerable adults? Are you passionate about empowering people to improve their quality of life and reach their potential?
Reed Community Care provides high quality person centred care to vulnerable people in the comfort of their homes. Our support is personalised to advocate for our clients’ needs and wants while encouraging independence and community engagement and maintaining the dignity of our clients.
We have an opportunity for experienced female support workers to join an existing team of carers for our client who is a gentle woman in her forties living with her parents in Forest Gate. She is interested in music, fashion, clothes and jewellery, television and films and enjoys going out to the cinema and to the park with her carers. She also holds a degree and although she is non-verbal she can communicate through gestures and really enjoys listening to her carers talk about their interests, travelling, activités and current events. She likes carers to read stories to her.
Our client has tetraplegia, multiple sclerosis, severe limb weakness, eye movement disorder and dysphagia. Her carers will help with washing, showering, brushing teeth, enema care, peg feed and suctioning, hoisting, transferring and administering medication. Our client is also high risk concerning Covid 19 as she is prone to chest infections and being hospitalised. Following current government guidelines and infection control practices and wearing PPE at all times is imperative.
