One of London’s best and newly refurbished private hospitals is looking for a Commis Chef to join their team.

The Catering Department is a small, well knitted team of 10 chefs, who deliver the highest quality of food to patients (129 beds), staff, consultants and functions. A variety of cuisines are produced and all prepared from fresh produce.

As Commis Chef, you will initially work on the cold section (salads and sandwiches), then you will be trained through the other sections, such as sauce, vegetables, fish and butchery, which will give you a great foundation to develop your skills and career.

Other duties and responsibilities will include following a food production sheet and preparing items to a consistent and high quality standard, preparing more complex items, assisting senior chefs in the serving of food, maintaining high standards of kitchen and personal hygiene and dealing with deliveries and stock rotation.

Ideally, you will have NVQ Level 2 in Catering and / or Hospitality, previous kitchen experience gained within a hotel / hospitality environment, understanding of basic food safety / hygiene regulations and excellent attention to detail.

You will work 37.5 hours per week; shifts, 6am - 2pm and 1pm - 9pm, covering 7 days a week.
