My client is a very reputable national insurance company, looking for a hungry, driven New Business Developer to join their team in Basingstoke.

This is a new role within the agency, you will be given a cold book that needs "warming up" to grow the commercial business in this branch. The successful candidate will thrive on generating and securing sales.

In this pivitol role, you’ll be prospecting, tendering and securing Corporate Commercial general insurance products. From generating commercial leads, to fact finding and visiting prospective customers and cross selling, you’ll drive sales and see the results.

Plan, prospect, select and sell Mid Corporate Commercial General insurance products
Develop and manage your own pipeline of business that is sufficient to achieve targets
Identify, cross sell leads for Financial Services and Risk Management Services
Build effective relationships with agencies that will be responsible for servicing the Commercial business you win.
Work closely with Sales Development Consultants to understand the risk appetite and prospecting opportunities.
Collaborate with Field Development Underwriters who will join you on your fact find and provide technical expertise on products and policies.


The candidate must come from a similar Commercial sales-focused role. You will thrive on challenge and love the buzz of closing deals, exceeding targets and reaping the rewards, before seeking your next sales opportunity.

Person Specification
You’re resilient, tenacious and you’ve perfected the art of selling.
Charismatic and brilliant with people, you’ll be confident engaging with and influencing a wide range of stakeholders.
You're confident lead generator and have experience of getting past the gatekeeper.
You build up an understanding of customers’ businesses, have the ability to negotiate to win the sale, spot opportunities to cross sell and pride yourself on developing solid relationships.
You have the ability to change your style throughout the sales process.
Insurance knowledge is preferrable, but not entirely essential.
You must be fearless in your approach and have a hunger for sales!

Minimum requirements
- You will have a minimum of 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) at Grade C, including Maths and English.
- UK drivers licence
