My client in Guildford, an award winning coach company are currently looking for a Commercial Manager to join their small team.

This is a full time permanent position and salary will be up to £30,000 depending on experience. 

Working hours are Monday-Friday 8.30am-5.30pm with an hour for lunch 

This is an extremely varied role which will include a mixture of Commercial, Technical, Administrative and Financial responsibilities. 

Ideally you will have 3 year's experience in a challenging commercial role within the coach, bus or similar industry. However they would consider a graduate that was looking to break into the transport industry. 


Main duties:

Generate ideas to further develop and improve Company's bus services and their operational and/or financial performance. Look at untapped market potential and consider ways we might take advantage of same.

Keep up to date with bus and coach supplier market trends, technologies, systems and solutions through at attendance at trade shows, talking to suppliers and relevant authorities.

Use the Company's social media channels, talking to people, conducting regular surveys and other methods to obtain customers’, non-customers’ and drivers’ views on Company's bus services, how we are doing as a company etc. Consider and recommend changes to the Company's services as a result of this activity.

Resolve customer and other complaints effectively, fairly and empathetically including investigation (using CCTV, Trapeze and/or Quartix data if necessary) and response by telephone, email or letter as most appropriate.

Office reception/secretarial duties including incoming/outgoing post, processing cheques, cash and card payments received, telephone calls, helping visitors, customers and suppliers who come in person, processing lost property/dealing with lost property enquiries, resolving equipment faults and managing general office supplies (Guildford office only).




Skills and Experience: 

Ideally you will have 3 year's experience in a challenging commercial role within the coach, bus or similar industry. However they would consider a graduate that was looking to break into the transport industry. 

Must be happy working within a small office environment. 

Able to work without supervision but clearly understanding when it is right and proper to seek help from a senior colleague. 

Capable of multi-tasking and willing to demonstrate a flexible approach to the job. 

Computer literate (Word, Excel, email, web) and numerate
