Contracts and Commercial Manager – Highways
This role provides commercial advice and activity to and on behalf of the Highways and Transport Commissioning Team within a well established public sector organisation.
The role is to advise and work on the commercial aspects of new and existing contracts, and to directly manage and develop some of the highway commercialisation activities.
As well as identifying and developing new opportunities for income generation, the post holder will be responsible for implementing some of the current inflight projects; specifically, Sponsorship of Highway Roundabouts and advertising on Contractor vehicles.
The role will involve working with directors and senior managers , as well as contractors and suppliers of services and goods.
The role requires commercial skills, acumen, knowledge and experience as well as tact and enthusiasm. The post holder must have the ability to produce reports and papers and to present and negotiate at all levels.
The post holder will be responsible to initiate, develop and in some instances implement business cases.
The post holder will provide general contractual commercial advice and specific commercial support to the management and procurement of the Professional Services Contract(s).
Previous experience in a commercial management role as well as strong contract management knowledge are essential.
This is a full time role - home based initially and with flexible working once return to the office is safe. Previous experience on highway contracts is not neccessary.
