One of the largest local authority based in London are looking to recruit a Commercial Business Analyst on a three months contract with possibility of further extension if all goes well. It is a full-time role Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week. The role will be work from home until further notice.

Role overview:

Reporting to the Commercial. Compliance and Contracts Manager, the post holder will be a senior member of the Commercial team at the council. This is a challenging and influential role that will be responsible for managing the Digital budget, track spending, business planning, resource management and providing commercial support to IDS stakeholders.

This role will be suitable for an individual possessing both financial nuance and an in-depth understanding of public sector procurement regulations. They will be an expert in financial modelling and provide input into the creation of commercial strategies, working with stakeholders and suppliers to deliver short term change, trialling innovations and reporting on budgetary variance.

This role is different to Contract Management and requires the post holder to adopt a more holistic and data-driven approach to developing closer relationships with key strategic suppliers with the end goal of generating added value through a reduction in costs.

The post holder will lead on the provision of an efficient, effective and high-quality professional and well-co-ordinated Commercial Analysis service as well as instigating collaborative working with strategic suppliers to deliver mutual incremental benefits over and above that generated by procurement or contract management activity. The post holder will also lead on shaping the supply markets to improve the overall financial and operational performance of IDS whilst minimising risk and reducing costs.

The post holder will also work very closely with the procurement, contract management and compliance team to support the implementation of Category Management methodology. They will regularly provide training and guidance, particularly to the wider team, and educate them in the benefits of budgeting, ‘Total Cost of Ownership’, ‘Value for Money, and using data to support the decision-making process.
