CNC Turner - Programmer & Operator
Derbyshire
Days role
£30,000 to £32,000 (dependent on experience) + overtime & excellent benefits

INTRODUCTION
As an established and world renowned leader in the design, development and manufacture of high precision components for a section of the automotive industry; my client is an extremely established and respected business, with a superb state of the art manufacturing facility in Derbyshire.
With over 35 years’ experience in the engineering field, they have an enviable reputation for quality and engineering prowess.
Due to continued growth and an expanding order book, they are now looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner - Programmer & Operator

THE ROLE

As a CNC Turner - Programmer & Operator you will:
• Machine components to a very high standard of quality and precision
• Set up tooling and fixtures and carry out programming and part-programming
• Be involved in the programming of updates and alterations to component parts
• Manufacture components from various materials in accordance with drawings and related instructions.
• Produce small batch work of selected components and occasional one-offs
• Support others in design and production in suggesting methods of manufacture
• Carry out inspection and quality checks, including the use of visual, manual and CMM checks

THE PERSON

In order to be considered for this CNC Turner - Programmer & Operator role it is expected that you will have:
• A recognised precision engineering background
• Ability to read and understand complex and detailed engineering drawings
• Have demonstrable experience of programming with Fanuc control systems
• A sound understanding of materials and up to date cutting methods
• Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
• The ability to be forward thinking and with a strong planning mentality
• An ability to make decisions, both as part of the manufacturing team and also independently
• A challenging mind set and ability to consider improvements to the manufacturing process
• Quality at the forefront of everything you do and be committed to getting things right first time


You will need to:

• Be time served or educated to a high NVQ level in a relevant engineering discipline
• Be experienced with Turning / Lathe machine tools (ideally Mori Seki but other manufacturers will be considered)
• Have the ability to program utilising FANUC controls (MDI and ISO code)
• Have sound knowledge and abilities with Fanuc controls and programming
• Have a continuous improvement mentality
• Those with an understanding of CADCAM will have an advantage
