Your New Role:

Responsibility for strategic management of the supply chain in a wide range of complex healthcare related goods and services. To identify, develop and drive sourcing strategies for all categories of services and commodities within the remit of the procurement department.
To achieve year on year on year cash releasing and cost avoidance savings, ensuring policies and operational practices comply with the Trust SFI’s, EU legislation and other statutory requirements and that they provide effective procurement of all categories of services and commodities.
To develop an excellent working relationship with all clinical and corporate stakeholders and to ensure that the service provided to internal customers is of a high standard.
Implement the integrated procurement strategy as agreed by the Trust Board and to produce, in conjunction with both clinical and corporate directorates, an annual sourcing work plan to meet key strategic objectives.
The role is currently based at Maidstone, you will however be required to work across site or change base as the service requires.

Your Responsibilities

Responsible as a Procurement expert with corporate responsibility for ownership and leadership of supplier and category spend at a strategic level, establishing and updating a sourcing strategy in line with the operational needs of the Trust, the procurement strategy and the targets agreed with Associate Director of Procurement, Executive Directors and Divisional Managers.
To achieve 7% annual cash releasing and 3% cost avoidance savings (based on influential spend) via multiple projects and initiatives and specifically through demand management, supply management and negotiation.
To initiate and lead project work with clinicians and colleagues to challenge the status quo, determining optimum cost and benefit outcomes in delivering embedded change

What You Need To Succeed

MCIPS full by qualification or other relevant professional qualification
PRINCE 2 Practitioner
Expert knowledge of EU Procurement rules
Healthcare purchasing experience
Experience of managing complex projects to the value of £500k and above
Experience of capital equipment procurement in large Trusts / Organisation
A proven track record of procurement savings delivery in either the private or public sector
Good working knowledge of Integra eSeries and / or a similar finance and procurement systems
