Nottinghamshire County Council are recruiting for a Social Worker to join their Children's Disability Team in Mansfield.
- Social Workers in the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub assess the initial need for service and identify safeguarding concerns. Where there are identified needs for a social care service or where there are safeguarding concerns in families where there is a disabled child, these referrals are passed to the Children’s Disability Team for assessment.
- The CDS Social Workers work with children and young people and their families/carers and have responsibility for the assessment of individual needs and the initiation and coordination of a range of services to meet them.
- They work with children and families with complex needs and high levels of vulnerability. They are involved in the management of significant risk in these cases.
- The CDS team also do their own court work, work with Looked after Children and are involved in family finding for those who cannot remain with their birth families.
- The post requires the post holder to organise and manage their workload independently, under supervision of the Team Manager.
- Social Workers will undertake a range of duties in connection with the assessment, and planning of services for children and young people and families/carers to enable children to reach the Every Child Matters outcomes including:
- Assessing the needs of children and their families.
- Compliance with legislation and departmental policies/procedures
- Maintaining records as required by policy and good practice.
- Working in partnership with colleagues from a range of different agencies to ensure children and young people are safely maintained in their environment.
Requirements of the role:
- Qualified Social Worker
- SW England registered·
- You should have experience in working with children and families where there is a diagnosed disability or significant health need
