Chief Financial Officer, Newry Area

Reed Finance is working in close partnership with a valued client in the Newry area in the appointment of a fully qualified (ACA) and commercially experienced CFO.
Our client is a long established organisation with offices across the UK & Ireland and following major investment programme over the last few years, they have expanded to become one of the major operators within their niche market with an annual turnover of £100m. Now part of a larger global group, this role involves timely financial reporting to strict international deadlines.
This role is available due to the retirement of the current post holder and the key purpose of this role is to lead the finance and IT teams, alongside taking responsibility for managing and developing all accounting, controlling, reporting, banking and IT activities for the business.
As CFO you will have responsibility for coordinating and managing cooperation both with other departments within the business and with external bodies including auditors, tax advisors and statutory bodies, ensuring information is delivered accurately and professionally.
The responsibility also encompasses initiatives for ongoing improvement in systems and data management, working closely with internal and external IT resources in the selection and implementation of appropriate resources. You will be required to maintain high level knowledge in terms of accounting principles, technological opportunities and legal requirements, both in the corporate and HR sectors.
The CFO will report directly to the CEO, leading a small experienced team. The role is very much hands-on, and you will be required to show a willingness to support all roles from primary level up to the delivery of monthly stakeholder reporting.
Our client would prefer that applicants are ACA qualified with a strong academic background preferably coupled with significant post-qualified experience within a larger commercial business.
You will demonstrate proven experience as a Head of Finance, CFO or similar
You will demonstrate up to date knowledge of the newest accounting principles and have experience with IFRS and consolidation
You should also demonstrate strong technical/IT expertise as you will be expected to work closely with the IT department preferably with some project/system implantation experience
