An exceptional science R&D business who are responsible for ground breaking new technology are expanding their procurement team.

Not only will you be working in a ground breaking bioscience industry but you will be joining this procurement team at a very exciting time. Given this company’s success and growth, the last couple of years have seen huge increase in production, product lines and sites. As such, procurement has now come to the forefront and you will be joining an exceptional Manager in creating a robust and efficient supply chain. Building relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to reduce cost and risk across the supply chain. You will be able to identify opportunity for improvement and to implement change, ultimately ensuring procurement best practice methodology is applied across the direct and indirect spend and making a best in class procurement function that you can be proud of, within a business where your hard work is recognised and rewarded. 

Salary anticipated to be c£40- £45k with good benefits package.

The role:
Spend of c£80 million across direct and Indirect.
Key spend areas: 
Direct- Electronics, Metalwork, Biosciences, Sub Contracting, Integrated circuits, Packaging, Tech products- Hard drives, RAM
Indirect spend- 4 sites - Plenty of opportunity to consolidate and make savings.
Key duties:
·    Running RFI/RFQ process to ensure purchasing at the best price for products and services without sacrifice to quality 
·    Contract Management 
·    Monitoring commodity trends and product availability 
·    Extensive supplier relationship and performance management 
·    Identifying requirement for and researching potential suppliers 
·    Assessing total costs of ownership of supplier portfolio
·    Developing and implementing strategies for procuring products or services to business requirements

Desirable experiences:
Engineering degree highly desirable
You will have already gained experience in a fast paced and complex manufacturing environment
You will have a working knowledge of BOM manufacturing process
Strong negotiation and influencing skills
A passion for continuous improvement 
A desire to deliver 
A collaborative self-starter
An innovator with significant career ambitions. 
CIPS or relevant qualifications in procurement & supply chain would also be desirable
